KRISTA'S representation of the Crags!
Krista, I am SO sorry. I was a little preoccupied with a little project that I totally neglected to post your photos! You shall, if you don't already, know soon what I was working on. Perhaps Saturday? Perhaps Tuesday. So, for everyone I shall share your photos...at least a few key pictures that I like a lot.
Heeere we goooo!
Rachel cooling tired feet the first night in the Selway.
The sunset the first night was incredible!
We are headed to THE VERY end of the road.
"The end of the road is only the end if you let it be. May the peaks and valleys quiet and renew your soul. Let there always be an adventure ahead and good friends to share it with."
T.E.
Headed up said road.
Canteen Creek. We CIRCLED this bastard in 12 or so miles. (Far ridge, we were in the valley behind that.)
Rachel at the first lunch stop.
Big Fog Lake at sunrise
Tom's cairn in a WAY too obvious spot. "Here's the lake if you didn't know it already!"
First camp in a frost pocket. GREAT photo.
Just so you know, we were "bear aware." The gals thought it was a good photo op.
On the way to Legend Lake! (By the way, this is a quintessential Idaho photo.)
It IS kind of a legend of a lake. I could have lived there.
Not sure if I was dancing or what. Happy to be at Legend anyways.
Rachel, walking on water? Happy to be there as well.
See Mom, I DO use a map....occasionally. "I make 'em, I don't necessarily USE them!"
Perfect view of Legend and the hike we did to get to the ridge. Again, much steeper than it looks here.
Not exactly sure where this is at. But this kind of thing happened a lot.
Looking down into the...ready for this? The southern-most lake of South Three Links Lake. ie: second camp.
Looking south from second camp the next morning. The "Lizard Fire" is over the ridge to the left down there about 5 miles, last reported at the time (and as I found out later the most active of the complex), at about 5000 acres.
Still raring to go the third day! Awesome hairdo!
Enjoying looking back over South Three Links Lakes on Jesse Pass.
It kinda died off after that with most of our photos. This is the point in the day when we were tired and drained...but still had miles and miles to go, plus brush, ascents and descents, and encounters with unseen (but known) fuzzy creatures.

I am continually amazed at the smiles I saw at every point in this trip. (We have photos to prove it...obviously.) Even tired, dazed, confused...we all managed to smile. It took some convincing for myself (via Rachel), but eventually, I saw the light and figured, "What is, is. We'll do it...and we'll deal with any potential consequences."
That is an interesting thing to think about. Essentially, that means, "I don't really care about what is going on out in the 'world' I care about what is here and who is with me right now."
Not something to take lightly.
LOVE IT.
