Sad and Funny
While I wait for my slow ass Oracle connection to transfer data, I'm going to share two interesting occurrences.
First, yesterday on my way home the guy in an old pickup in front of me just happened to notice two kids racing up to a crosswalk. His view was mostly blocked by a parked car, but he was able to jump on the brakes and let the kids cross. They WAVED in thanks (which is awesome and rare) and he waited until they were completely across the road and checked his mirrors prior to moving through. We made eye contact while he was looking in his side-view and I just gave him a smile and a wave. I wish I could've given him a thumbs up, and actually, I had half a mind to follow him just to thank him. Now, it's SAD that when a driver around here does the right thing, I'm impressed to the point I want to shake their hand.
And I guess this isn't an occurrence, per se, but I desperately wanted to do it a couple weeks ago. Sarah and I don't like selling out to the Valentine's Day hype, and I can't stand crowds, so we waited until OUR Valentine's day on the 15th to go to Red Lobster. (Ooh, and it's "lobster fest!!") The place was getting busier by the time we were leaving and I was waiting to get outside before...uhm...well, farting. But then I had a thought that even made both of my little shoulder angles giggle...wait for it...
How funny would it be to crop dust a Red Lobster on your way out the door? All those people enjoying their seafood dinner splurge, and never knowing exactly what that mysterious aroma was or where it came from. Hahahaa! Even thinking about it has me grinning.
*sigh* I sure am simple sometimes. Whoops, looks like I'm in business, gotta go.

Yuck, but funny -- it sure made me laugh, but I will always have caution if we ever have a meal together. You've been spending too much time with my dad, I think.
Loved the hand-shaking story too. I'm the same way - I probably would've followed him home & mailed him a thank you card.
