Well, I'm back
Yep, the hard work is over and I'm back in the office once again. For now...
After the stove, the only thing I actually need is new hunting boots....mine have seriously and literally fallen apart. I shall try to find the same pair because they are soft, quiet, and comfortable. Shoot, I guess I could just order them! Good idea, Tom!
Poor photos, but this is my pack. (Be sure to notice the tomato plants...I think they might reach the roof.)
It is very hard getting back into the swing of things. I get in at 0600 still, and by 0930, I am tired of being there. Time goes so fast when you are in the woods. And, I've nearly accomplished everything that piled up while I was gone. Funny, when there isn't a GIS guy there to give requests to for information you may not need...people forget about the request and make do. Hmmm...makes me wonder.
However, I accumulated some overtime and some consequential cash, so today I bought a new backpack! I was in line for something around the $400 mark, but found this 6500 cubic inch Kelty and decided, "It's a backpack for crying out loud!" For $180, I think I made a steal. However, I did NOT buy the stove I want yet. I don't know why. It was there. I suppose I have to delay my gratification for it to really count. Check out the MSR "dragonfly" sometime. Top of the line is where I'm headed...the thing has parts that are replaceable and can run on unleaded gasoline (if need be)! Come on!
