Huckleberries!

They are out in full swing! I think I collected a half gallon in an hour. I seem to have a problem though, even though I wanted to leave since I was where we have been working long days, it was a hour and a half drive up there, my back hurt, my feet hurt...I STILL couldn't help but move to bush after bush. I am thinking, however, I may get 5 pounds and make a gallon of huckleberry wine! In August, the plan is to go to the Clearwater and get 25 pounds of blackberries and make five gallons of blackberry wine. I did that last year, but only made a gallon, and it got great reviews from family, friends, and the noisy people in Glacier. Perfect dry, crisp, and sweet all at the same time. So I'm upping the production this year. Plus, spending a weekend on the Clearwater swimming and picking copious amounts of blackberries doesn't sound like a bad time to me!
